THis song was written for a Year 6 Class and their topic on 'The Mayans.' I have to confess I knew little about the topic and really enjoyed doing research for this song. I sent it out as a lockdown activity in January and have been told that the children enjoyed the song. There are many opportunities for musical activities associated with the song including learning about minor keys, creating chordal accompaniments, creating simple harmony lines, creating ostinato accompanimnets and recording these using a variety of notations and possibly creating an additional verse.
