A song about the legendary Martin Luther King and his quest for equality for all.
I am only just uploading this song even though I wrote it for a Year 2 class in 2023 and their topic on modern day 'Heroes,' but it would be a perfect addition to an assembly about Martin Luther King Day on January 19th. In class we created simple songs inspired by the 12/8 time signature where the children used the lyrics 'I have a Dream' as rhythmic and melodic ostinati. We also listened and danced with scarves to peaceful music in compound time like Grieg's 'Morning' from Peer Gynt. I hope this song inspires you and your children to explore many moire musical ideas.
